About Mayer & Harper
Randolph Mayer and Mark Harper have been friends for more than 30 years and law partners since 2010. They share a strong work ethic, deep knowledge of the law, commitment to justice and dedication to their clients -- qualities that stand out to their peers in the legal community and the individuals and families the firm represents in civil, criminal and commercial matters.
In 2015, Mayer & Harper welcomed Allen Lightcap as an Associate. While in law school, Mr. Lightcap worked for the firm as a summer clerk and, after several years in the Georgia Attorney General's office, returned to Mayer & Harper to apply his public sector experience to serving private clients.
Mayer & Harper is a small firm by design. Our size gives us the flexibility to capitalize on the individual strengths and perspectives each of our attorneys brings to the mix and keeps us on focused on moving our cases forward without creating unnecessary delays for our clients. The result is exceptional legal representation for people who are eager to resolve their issues and move on with their lives.

Partner
Randolph A. Mayer
Randolph Mayer has been a practicing attorney in Atlanta for more than 30 years. His career has spanned diverse areas of the law, including partnership and business dissolutions, insurance claims, employment issues, white collar criminal allegations, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, and serious and catastrophic injury.
Mr. Mayer's experience and reputation as a litigator have led to an active mediation and arbitration practice. He was one of the first attorneys in Atlanta to offer alternative dispute resolution services, and his success in this arena is built on longstanding relationships with plaintiffs and defense lawyers, as well as his capacity for diffusing contentious situations in order to move the parties toward resolution. Mr. Mayer handles mediations in numerous areas of the law but specializes in disputes affecting law and accounting firms, including malpractice, partnership dissolution, Title VII and sexual harassment claims. He has also served as a special master and is regularly called as an expert witness on matters specific to the practice of law, particularly attorneys' fees and legal malpractice.
Mr. Mayer has lectured extensively and chaired seminars on topics including abusive litigation, closing arguments, mediation advocacy, business torts, damages, jury selection, direct examinations and defamation.

ASSOCIATE
Allen Lightcap
Allen Lightcap focuses his practice on preparing for and taking cases to trial. As Randy Mayer and Mark Harper have taught him over the years, the best way to practice law is to know your case better than anyone else. Allen prepares every case as if he will be presenting it to a judge or jury, which adds tremendous value whether in settlement negotiations or at trial.
Prior to joining Mayer & Harper, Allen served as Assistant Attorney General under Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens. In that capacity, he represented the Professional Standards Commission against numerous teachers implicated in the Atlanta Public Schools CRCT cheating scandal. He also defended a class action lawsuit filed against Governor Nathan Deal and the Public Defender Standards Council, asserting widespread claims of ineffective assistance of counsel in a rural Georgia judicial circuit. He represented the Office of Bar Admissions and Board to Determine Fitness of Bar Applicants and successfully represented numerous superior court judges who were sued in their judicial capacities.
